This position is based in Waterford.
Duties:
1. Work as part of a Global IT team and work in varying capacities as projects arise.
2. Work within a GxP framework in a regulated manufacturing environment.
3. Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures to ensure appropriate business continuity and disaster recovery.
4. Creation and maintenance of documentation and standards to accurately reflect the environment and work practices.
5. General technical troubleshooting and consultation with Application owners.
6. Capacity planning of hardware and systems to continually meet the needs of the business.
7. Implement and maintain solutions for efficient and effective 24x7 environment.
8. Lead the IT Operations Group including management of the Helpdesk.
9. Responsibility for ensuring that the infrastructure is operational 24/7 (Servers, Comms Rooms, Firewalls, Computer Rooms, communication lines, WiFi).
10. Responsibility for designing and implementing Disaster Recovery solutions for infrastructure.
11. Comply with Plant, Corporate policies for hardware installation and validation.
12. Ensure protection of servers and workstations from harmful viruses by maintaining updated Anti-Virus software.
13. Keep up to date on new technologies and liaise with Global Technology Services to implement appropriate solutions e.g., Wireless, Video Conferencing, IP Technologies.
14. Management of external communication links to other Bausch & Lomb sites i.e., providing MPLS and internet.
15. Providing technical expertise to IT and other Departments.
16. Ensure adequate support contracts are maintained for licensing and technology support in the event of systems issues.
17. Works primarily for Waterford site but performs work for other sites upon request.
18. Lead 4 engineers.
Requirements
1. Third Level Degree in IT/Business discipline.
2. Masters Level Degree preferable.
3. Project management training (courses/qualifications/experience).
4. Infrastructure specific training (courses/qualifications/experience).
5. 3-5 years IT Project Leadership experience, preferably in Healthcare or Electronics Industry.
6. Experience in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical environment would be beneficial.
7. Experience leading a team.
8. World Class Manufacturing/GMP Experience in an FDA regulated industry would be beneficial.
9. Excellent communication skills.
