The overall purpose of this role is to facilitate the creation of a World Class safety environment.
Key Objectives:
• Act as key member of the Factory Leadership team
• Provide input and influence on overall site strategic decisions.
• Create the roadmap for a World Class safety environment.
• Work with the site Operations Director and Irish Leadership Team to create understanding and awareness of the role of leaders on Health & Safety
• Coach department leaders on the role of a leader ensuring that all leaders are, first and foremost, safety leaders.
• Risk assesses the site and ensure that there is clarity on resourcing and capital needs for the medium to long term strategy being deployed.
• Bring new ideas and external perspectives to site and ensure that the organisation is aware of cutting-edge processes, systems, and technology from a H&S perspective.
• Review, update, and implement the H&S system of work
• Implement Internal Audit processes at site level and measure performance and action planning.
• Undertake regular safety audits on the site to ensure compliance with H&S policy.
• Liaise with HSA and other outside agencies in relation to H&S matters including reporting, auditing, and ensuring recommendations and guidelines are fully complied with.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill and Experience sought:
• 3rd level qualification in Health and Safety
• At least 5 to 7 years' experience in large-scale manufacturing operation
• Ability to lead on a site with large contractor presence.
• Strong experience in COMAH leadership.
• Demonstrated experience of exercising strong decision-making skills
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
