Role Overview
Spencer Recruitment is partnering with our client to find an ambitious, energetic Business Development Manager who will drive new business opportunities for their unique venue. In this role, you will be responsible for growing revenue streams through proactive selling, innovative sales strategies, and excellent client management—ensuring our client remains a leading venue for events, sports, live entertainment, and corporate gatherings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage individual sales pipelines, forecast performance, and meet annual sales targets through proactive lead generation, proposals, site visits, contract negotiations, and successful closure.
2. Stay attuned to market trends in the events, sports, and live entertainment sectors to ensure our client remains responsive and strategically competitive.
3. Cultivate strong relationships as the primary point of contact for clients throughout their lifecycle, ensuring high levels of satisfaction through active account management.
4. Collaborate across internal teams (including food, beverage, AV, and ticketing) to deliver a seamless, integrated experience for each client.
5. Utilize the venue events booking system and supporting technology to provide real-time information on bookings and event status.
6. Participate in cross-functional sales handover meetings, ensuring clear communication and coordination among all stakeholder groups.
Person Specification
1. Proven track record of winning new business, managing existing accounts, and exceeding sales targets.
2. Strong negotiation skills, creative thinking, and an entrepreneurial approach to generating new revenue opportunities.
3. Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
5. Passion for customer service and a purpose-driven mindset with a commitment to making a positive social impact.
Experience & Qualifications:
1. Minimum 5 years of relevant sales and business development experience; experience in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry is strongly advantageous.
2. A robust network across the corporate and event management sectors.
3. Experience with tender submissions and event operations is desirable.
4. A third-level degree in Business, Events, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
5. A clean driving license and residence in the greater Dublin area are preferred.
