Role - Senior Engineer (Reporting to Project Manager)
Responsibilities -
1. Review the design in detail for buildability and generate a schedule of issues for each stage of construction.
2. Maintain this list and update during construction, reviewing regularly with the JJR Project Manager on site.
3. Ensure, by agreement with the project manager, that the project has the required engineering and technical resource to fulfil all engineering duties.
4. Provide necessary leadership to any engineering staff reporting directly to you.
5. Understand any mentoring and training requirements.
6. Liaise with the design team to ensure the construction team has all the required information to construct the Works.
7. Generate and maintain the RFI (Request for Information) Schedule in line with the programme requirements.
8. Hold responsible people to account for providing required design information and responding.
9. Provide clear reporting to the project management team to enable them to understand design status and impact if any to project.
10. Be fully aware of the Programme of the project. (Design, Procurement, Lead-in and Construction).
11. In addition to the programme requirements, challenge the design to provide commercial benefit where possible.
12. Take responsibility for dimensional control from ensuring the project has the required primary control information to the site engineering team providing any required setting out for the Works.
13. Ensure robust checking system is in place to continually monitor and provide required assurance on setting out.
14. Submit all technical submissions delegated to you from the PM within the scope of works you have responsibility for within the required timescales including taking note of required approval / response periods so that there is no impact to the programme.
15. Generate an Inspection and Test Plan Schedule in line with the Works Information that provides the necessary inspections and hold points during construction.
16. Generate and/or review method statements and risk assessments in conjunction with the wider team timely, ensuring buildability and safe systems of works are prioritised at all times.
17. Carry out necessary inspections and audits of Works or delegate to suitable team members to ensure that all required inspections are being carried out.
