About the role The successful candidate will take a hands-on technical role, working with ASP.NET (VB), SQL Server, Crystal Reports, and MS Dynamics to improve and streamline regulatory reporting, web-based returns, and case management workflows. Reporting to the Head of Professional Authorisations, the Professional Standards and IT Administrator will work closely with the Professional Standards teams to produce accurate regulatory reporting and provide support in the use of and the implementation and simplification of core Professional Standards systems functionality.The Professional Standards Department of Chartered Accountants Ireland, along with the relevant compliance and disciplinary committees is responsible for the delivery of the Institutes regulation and disciplinary obligations which derive both from statute and its own Bye-Laws & Regulations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, compliance, and data management, ensuring the seamless operation of critical online systems that serve Chartered Accountants and regulatory bodies. Key responsibilities Regulatory Reporting (Crystal Reports & SQL Server) Production and upload of regulatory data to external registers to agreed specifications/timelines. Registers include Companies Registration Office, Joint Audit Register, Central Bank of Ireland, Investor Compensation Company DAC (ICCL) & HM Revenue & Customs. Production of system checks, mailing lists and statistical reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc basis for the Professional Standards team and other departments. Web Application Development ASP.NET (VB) & SQL Server Ownership of the (.NET) Professional Standards online returns & applications and corresponding back end (administration) functionality. These include Firm Annual Return Individual Annual Return (Practising Certificate renewals) Responsible Individual (RI) Annual Return Sustainability Assurance Service Provider online application Firm Monitoring CPD Monitoring Implementation of any new regulatory and/or process simplification requirements Liaising with key users to capture and document business requirements, defining project timelines and prioritising workload. Database administration (SQL Server) including the implementation of schema database changes, system security and applying GDPR procedures. Complaints Case Management System (CCMS) MS Dynamics Provide 1stlevel support, responding to, escalating and resolving user queries and issues in a timely manner Facilitate a weekly support call with the Sogeti support team. IT Systems Assist in the implementation of new regulatory processes and technical improvements. Develop SQL reporting views and dashboards for internal departments. Participate in cross-departmental technical projects and process automation initiatives. The Candidate Required competencies: Proficiency in using MS Dynamics, ASP.Net Visual Basic, SQL Server, Crystal Reports Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Excellent prioritisation and time management skills, the ability to carry out self-directed work, multi-task and work in an organised manner to strict deadlines Competent relationship management skills to deal with internal stakeholders with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
