Our client, a Tier 1 civil engineering construction designer/consultancy, with interests in Ireland & UK, require a Structural Engineer within their expanding design hub.
They design, manufacture, supply and fit ‘innovative’ structural and building solutions, previous experience of precast, concrete & steel frame, cladding, curtain walling, modular or other ‘off-site’ sectors would be advantageous.
You will be an integral member of the ‘design team’, reporting to the Director of Civil, previous experience of AutoCad and knowledge of BIM, Revit and other packages including such as SCIA, Civil 3D, Tekla or similar would be advantageous but not necessary.
Markets include power generation, power supply, wind and renewable energy including generic structures, mass & precast concrete and structural steel frames.
Responsibilities:
1. Review and monitor the Clients design proposals and manage the design process from conceptual and final design to approval stage.
2. Monitor, manage and approve design changes in conjunction with production, installation, and commercial teams, ensuring programme and cost effects are agreed.
3. Liaise with procurement department / manufacturing functions to ensure that necessary materials are procured on time and within budgets.
4. Responsible for leading and developing technical and engineering support in relation to current and new products/systems development.
Required:
5. Degree/Diploma qualified in Structural Engineering or Architecture, with a minimum of 3 years post graduate and proven design experience.
6. Structural engineering design of precast or off-site construction would be an advantage.
7. Commercial awareness and client interfacing experience is essential.
