The SecOps Engineering Operations Analyst is responsible for providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 operational support for the company's network security, endpoint security, enterprise logging, and cyber ops platforms.
This includes triaging issues, troubleshooting problems, resolving incidents, and driving continuous improvement through automation and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities: Incident, Problem and Issue Management: Triage and resolve incidents, problems and operational issues across security platformsPerform root cause analysis, implement workarounds and preventive measuresEscalate complex issues to Tier 3 support teams following defined processesAssist with major incident management, communication and post-incident reviewsOperational Support and Administration: Provide Tier 1/2 support for routine tasks like deployment, configuration, patching and upgradesExecute operational runbooks, maintenance activities and health checks across platformsMonitor system availability, performance metrics and error conditionsImplement approved changes following change management processesAutomation and Tooling: Assist with developing automation scripts and workflows to increase operational efficiencyIdentify opportunities and drive initiatives to automate routine tasks and processesEvaluate and implement tools for log analysis, reporting, monitoring and administrationKnowledge Management and Documentation: Document procedures, troubleshooting steps and remediation actions in knowledge basesContribute to training materials, runbooks and technical documentationPromote knowledge sharing across the operations team through mentoring and knowledge transfersContinuous Improvement: Analyze recurring issues, support tickets and operational data to identify improvement areasPropose and implement process optimizations and preventive measuresAssist with testing and enablement of new tools, technologies and operational capabilitiesStakeholder Coordination: Effectively communicate with internal teams like security engineering, IT and vendorsProvide timely updates and coordinate maintenance/change activitiesGather operational requirements and represent the operations team in planning sessionsQualifications: 0-4 years of experience in IT operations, system/network administration or security operationsHands-on technical experience with network security, endpoint security, logging and security toolingScripting abilities in languages like Python, PowerShell, Bash for automation tasksKnowledge of IT service management processes, incident management and change managementStrong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a high-paced environment, multi-task and meet SLA commitmentsEffective written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of security principles, networks, operating systems and cloud computingBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field or equivalent experienceCertifications like A+, Network+, Security+ etc.
