Resident Engineer
We are supporting an international consultancy seeking a skilled Resident Engineer to join their team in Cork.
The Resident Engineer will be responsible for overseeing civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with all regulations and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
* Evaluate project performance to ensure timely delivery, adherence to scope, and budgetary control.
* Review and interpret project plans and specifications.
* Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
* Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and enforce safety and quality standards.
* Resolve technical issues that arise during the construction process.
* Prepare regular progress reports and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the design team to address design changes or issues that may emerge during construction.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by obtaining necessary permits and licenses.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
* Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or similar role in the civil engineering industry.
* In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines.
* Strong project management and leadership skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure.
* Familiarity with relevant software and tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and construction management software.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
This position offers guaranteed work for 18 months with new projects expected in the city.
