Senior Psychologist
We are seeking a Senior Psychologist to join the Irish Prison Service in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessments and developing behaviour monitoring procedures for individuals referred to the psychology service.
You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to develop Care and Management Plans, ensuring that recommendations are linked to the individual's formulation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assessing and intervening with individuals who have been referred to the IPS Psychology Service due to mental health difficulties or offence-specific needs.
* Developing and implementing evidence-based psychological interventions.
* Collaborating with community agencies involved in the support and resettlement of individuals leaving custody.
* Providing consultation, training, and education to the broader IPS organisation and partners.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, candidates must:
* Be eligible for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* Hold a postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology recognised by PSI or in Counselling Psychology recognised by PSI.
* Have a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience as a Psychologist.
Desirable qualifications include experience working with a forensic population, providing consultation and education to multidisciplinary colleagues, and holding further therapeutic or research qualifications.
