Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with the Site Production Manager to ensure all aspects of the Food Safety and Quality Management System are implemented across the site.
* Work directly with the production supervisors/managers and prepare regular management reports and trend analysis.
* Ensure compliance with DAFM, BRC, MPQAS and Customer Requirements.
* Continually review existing Food Safety and Quality Management Systems in line with legislative & customer requirements.
* Keep up to date with food legislation and emerging food safety risks.
* Communicate technical information in the way that meets the needs of the target audience.
* Develop new approaches or technologies in the area of technical to ensure continuous improvement.
* Manage certification and customer audits, completing corrective action reports to agreed timelines.
* Manage customer complaints, root-cause investigation, and implementation of corrective actions.
* Drive continuous improvement through Food Safety and Quality Objectives.
* Develop a Food Safety Culture across the site.
* Coach & nurture talent within the technical team.
Key Requirements:
* Foood Science qualification, preferably a Food Science degree or equivalent experience.
* Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Procedures.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in food safety / quality.
* A proficient user of computers, i.e.: Excel, Word and Power Point.
* Good communication skills, ability to work in a team and on own initiative.
* Strong organisational skills giving attention to detail.
