Horizons is looking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced Social Care Workers on a full-time and part-time basis to support people living in community residences to flourish and lead a life of their choosing.
This recruitment opportunity will assist in enhancing the overall quality of life for people supported in Horizons.
Your role will assist in providing person-centred opportunities for people living in their own home, along with support for activities of daily living, that can help to develop and maintain links with the wider community.
These positions require a high degree of flexibility and motivation. The team members will work closely with the individual’s circles of support and their local community.
A commitment to a person-centred, citizen-based, social model of support is required. Focus on supporting the development of valued social roles is essential.
Applicants must possess the following:

(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition;
(i) Hold professional registration, or be eligible for registration, on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.

OR
(ii) Have a schedule 3 qualification.

OR
(iii) Have a comparable qualification recognised by Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.
OR
(iv) Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 must submit proof of application for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.
(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the role.
2. Annual Registration
(i) On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.
(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Successful Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:
* Sufficient professional knowledge to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role
* An understanding of theory and practice in the delivery of individualised supports to people living in their own home
* An understanding of therapeutic approaches relevant to meet the needs of people
* Sufficient awareness of policy, legislative and professional requirements to ensure an appropriate standard of service delivery
* A Full Clean Driver’s Licence is essential
