About the Role:
We are seeking a Trainee Land Surveyor to work under the supervision of our Senior Surveyor based at the head office in Mallow, Co. Cork.
As a land surveyor, you will be responsible for measuring and mapping the Earth's surface to determine property boundaries, land features, and other important details to aid in the construction and design of water and wastewater treatment plants across Ireland.
You will receive training in the role, but a keen interest in technology, topography, GPS, and working at site locations is essential. Previous experience is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct topographical surveys of various scale and complexity, working alongside the Senior Surveyor or independently
* Complete laser scan surveys of various sites to a high level of accuracy and precision using the correct methodology and quality control measures
* Process multi data sets from various instrumentation to a high working standard, including topographical, laser scan, and UAV data
* Maintain the instrumentation to a high working standard and ensure it is fit for purpose
* Become proficient in the use of AutoCAD, N4ce, Cyclone, and other survey software, as well as Leica Total Stations, laser scanners, GPS technology, and UAV
* Carry out engineering setting out for projects within the company, both Civil and Mechanical
* Collaborate with different departments to assist project delivery
Key Competencies and Skills:
* A strong interest in learning the Land/Engineering surveyor profession
* An appreciation of drawing standards and CAD software packages
* The ability to learn survey processing software packages
* A keen interest in learning from the senior surveyor on all aspects of the role
* Flexibility to work nationwide
Qualifications:
* Civil engineering experience would be an advantage
* A Leaving Certificate or equivalent
* A Bachelor's degree in a related field is advantageous but not essential
* A full clean driving licence
