We are looking for passionate and dedicated Social Care Workers to join our client's team and make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. Each day at work is different; however, each day requires all the team members to ensure the care, welfare, safety, and security of each child. Promoting a positive lived care experience is essential for children residing in the service. The team members, regardless of role, are responsible for ensuring that each child's individual care plan goals are fully supported so that each child has opportunities to grow, develop, make mistakes, have positive experiences, learn new skills, and most importantly develop a sense of safety and security.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct Care and Support: Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met.
* Create a Positive Environment: Promote a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere where the young people feel safe, respected, and valued.
* Personal Development: Assist the young people in developing life skills, supporting their education, personal development, and social skills.
* Behavioral Support: Implement positive behavior management strategies and ensure consistent boundaries are in place.
* Safeguarding: Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, ensuring the welfare and protection of all young people in your care.
* Care Planning: Work collaboratively with the team to contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
* Report Writing & Documentation: Keep accurate records and reports in line with regulatory requirements, providing updates on the child's progress.
* Team Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with colleagues, managers, families, and external agencies.
Essential Qualifications:
* * BA in Applied Social Care Work (level 7/8) or equivalent
* QQI Level 8 in Psychology
* QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
* QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Counselling/ Psychotherapy
* QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Addiction Counselling
* QQI Level 7 on Youth and Community or similar
* QQI Level 7 in Social Science/Social Studies
* QQI Level 7 in Family Support
* Professional Qualification in Teaching (Not TEFL)
* Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
* QQI Level 7 in Disability Studies
* QQI Level 7 in Applied Behavioural Analysis
* QQI Level 7 Early Years Care, where centre caters for children aged 12 and under
* BA in Applied Policing or equivalent
* Holder of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service) or equivalent
