Hiring for Devops Engineer for Banking Client who can support the banks ongoing transition from a Waterfall to Agile mindset through DevOps practices that support the Digital Transformation

Role -
To support and enable this transformation a significant and exciting opportunity has become
available for a DevOps Engineer in our Enterprise IT Services department. This role will help to grow
our capability to support, manage and enhance CI/CD services that underpin the Banks digital
transformation while in parallel partake in our automation journey towards infrastructure-as-code.
The DevOps Engineer will work within EIS as part of the DevOps team and will be responsible for
development and enablement of CI/CD and Automation capabilities into an enduring model that will
underpin the Bank's digital transformation. The DevOps team are a positive, flexible and engaged
team who are also responsible for development of the DevOps culture within the organization
through collaboration, open-mindedness and tenacity.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the existing CI/CD and Automation implementation while continuously identifying opportunities to enhance and grow the capability
2. Support the banks ongoing transition from a Waterfall to Agile mindset through DevOps practices that support our Digital Transformation
3. Support the development and implementation of the strategy and technology roadmap for CI/CD, Devops and each of the underpinning technologies.
4. Support a collaborative and aligned roadmap with the application teams to progress the development of the DevOps capability for the organization with a common backlog.
5. Support the automation first strategy within EIS eliminating repetitive tasks and enabling the focus on higher value activities.
6. Maintain the ongoing service and cyber security integrity of the in-scope technologies including elements such as patch management and certificate management.
Requirements:
Essential
7. Software development/engineering background possessing a strong understanding of development and SCM practices
8. Should have xperience in implementation and support of CI/CD processes and associated technologies which that underpin CICD pipelines enabling release management
9. Experience of Ansible automation and its implementation in infrastructure and application delivery to further the DevOps capability - 'infrastructure-as-code'
10. Experience in identifying and implementing continuous improvement through automation and process
11. A strong appreciation of 'team' with the ability to work with colleagues across teams of different ability, culture and priority to deliver results as one
12. Good problem-solving abilities with the ability to direct solution determination and implementation of effective and permanent solutions - 'fix it for the future' mindset
13. Experience of cyber security management and its delivery within the context of CI/CD and automation services; patch management, certificate management.
14. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
15. Minimum of 5 years senior experience in a similar role.
