Senior Management Accountant
The Senior Management Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining an efficient and accurate finance function within the SmurfitWestRock business.
This role involves assisting accounting personnel/management in the maintenance, reporting, and management of the company's finances.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To assist with the accurate and timely preparation and submission of financial information (e.g., P&Ls, Balance Sheets, FRP, Cash Flow) that meets the needs of management, the company, government, and statutory bodies.
2. To ensure financial consistency in accordance with SOX, Corporate Guidelines, and support best practice approaches.
3. To provide local management with information and analysis to assist them with improved decision-making.
4. To ensure statutory compliance surrounding VAT, EC sales, Intrastat, and payroll.
5. To supervise the external SSC (Infosys) on the transactional service they provide to the business, including AP, AR, Interco, and bank postings.
6. To work closely with MPS' centralized collection team to assist them with the on-time collection of the company's debt and queries resolution.
7. To assist with the monitoring, recording, and reporting of capital spend against capital projects.
8. To assist with recording and reporting of all company stocks, including stocks of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
9. To assist with all internal and external audit requests within the published timescale for these audits.
10. To deliver business support to both profit centers and internal cost centers, manage priorities, and demands on time accordingly.
11. To ensure that internal controls are complete, robust, and effective in order to safeguard company assets.
Requirements:
* Graduate calibre
* Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA or equivalent)
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* At least 3 years' experience
* Several years' experience in a manufacturing/commercial environment, ideally batch manufacturing with multiple customers
* Thorough understanding of internal controls and their implementation
* Ability to self-motivate
* Experience of communicating at all levels
* Highly computer literate with advanced Excel modelling skills and presentation skills
* High level of Numerical/Verbal reasoning skills
