We are currently hiring an Automation Engineer to join us in Sligo.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develop, configure, and maintain Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for bulk processing operations.
* Design and implement automation solutions to optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
* Develop and modify control strategies, batch recipes, and automation sequences based on process requirements.
* Support the integration of DeltaV with other industrial automation platforms, including SCADA, PLCs, and MES.
* Support commissioning, qualification, and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) of automated systems in compliance with GMP, FDA, and industry regulations.
* Generate and maintain technical documentation, including functional specifications (FS), design specifications (DS), and validation protocols.
* Work closely with quality, validation, and regulatory teams to ensure all automation processes meet industry standards.

Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing automation, with expertise in bulk processing.
* Proficiency in Emerson DeltaV DCS, including batch processing, advanced control strategies, and alarm management.
* Experience in GMP-regulated environments, including FDA, MHRA, and EU Annex 11 compliance.
* Strong knowledge of automation validation, change control, and risk assessment.
* Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, and MES systems is a plus.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve automation-related issues.
* Strong documentation and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
