Job Description
The Technical Author is responsible for ensuring consistency in developing contract content for main infrastructure contracts, professional service contracts, and public-private partnership contracts. The role holder is responsible for defining requirements that can be consistently applied and measured throughout Project Procurement and subsequent contract administration. The role holder plays a pivotal role in collaborating with stakeholders to transform their needs into deliverables using consistent language and requirements. As part of the programme team, the Technical Author supports the development and delivery of the programme and provides general support and guidance to the team.
Qualifications
* 10+ years’ experience in capital projects or asset management activities with at least 5 years’ specialised experience in bid or contract content writing including activities across the project lifecycle ideally within significant procurement activities through to completion in high value metro rail projects or projects of a similar scale/complexity.
* Demonstrable academic qualifications (NFQ Level 6 or 7) or equivalent.
* Documentation Process, and the System/software engineering process.
* Experience and working knowledge of developing software/system manuals.
* Experience and working knowledge of cloud or web-based packages used for developing digital manuals/guides/technical documentation.
* Excellent experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Previous experience working within multi-disciplinary groups and managing complex interfaces.
Additional Information
* Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation, such as user manuals, installation guides, and troubleshooting guides.
* Ability to communicate well with stakeholders, transforming their needs into deliverables using consistent language and requirements.
* Familiarity with engineering principles, especially those related to metro systems, including civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
* Knowledge of systems integration.
* Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear and consistent dialogue between all parties involved.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong organisational and collaboration skills.
