Principal Connections has been retained by a leading provider of Chemical Logistics and Supply Chain Solutions to recruit for the new, important role of Head of Commercial and Business Development.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Head of Commercial and Business Development will be responsible for developing and driving our client's commercial strategy for the Health and Life Sciences (HLS) industry.
THE POSITION Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy focused on achieving revenue and profitability targets for the HLS industry.
Collaborate strategically with the SLT to align commercial strategy with company objectives.
Contribute as part of the SLT to overall company strategy.
Build, mentor, and inspire a dynamic sales team, fostering a collaborative and achievement-focused culture.
Identify and capitalise on emerging market opportunities and partnerships to accelerate business growth.
Develop, negotiate, win, and manage customer contracts in close collaboration with supporting teams.
Leverage relationships with life sciences industry contacts while actively pursuing new client accounts to expand the company's market share.
Foster a high-performing sales culture emphasising accountability, professional growth, and results-driven performance.
Collaborate with internal teams to innovate custom solutions to specific client requirements.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal policies within the sales process.
REQUIREMENTS Suitably qualified and interested candidates will be operating at an appropriate Senior Management level and hold a stellar track record in business development/sales, preferably within the chemical logistics, supply chain, or life sciences industries.
