Maintenance Technician - Limerick
This role offers a chance to play a vital part in delivering essential port services, supporting the safe and efficient movement of vessels, and contributing to the operation of one of Ireland's key port facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing ship mooring lines.
* General cleaning tasks across port equipment, buildings, and overall premises.
* Assisting with maintenance operations, including supporting engineering teams and external contractors.
* Operating various port machinery and vehicles, including marine craft and heavy equipment.
* Performing essential port duties such as preparing jetties, handling mooring lines, servicing vessels, managing waste disposal, cargo operations, providing water supply, handling security responsibilities, and managing dock gates and weighbridge duties.
* Maintaining operational and environmental health and safety (EHS) equipment, along with record-keeping, including updates in the company's digital Maintenance Management System.
* Supporting emergency response activities as needed.
Requirements:
* Must be physically capable of performing demanding tasks like handling ship mooring lines.
* Willingness to work on a rotating schedule that includes weekends and irregular hours.
* Possession of a valid EU driver's licence (minimum Category B).
* Ability to collaborate effectively within a small, diverse team.
* While not mandatory, experience with operating or maintaining heavy machinery, marine craft, or familiarity with marine operations is an advantage.
