Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Compliance Manager to join our team at Bunzl Ireland. The Compliance Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that the Purchasing Department at Bunzl Ireland adheres to all legal, regulatory, and corporate standards within the industries we operate in. This role involves managing documentation, tracking compliance requirements, conducting audits, data gathering & verifying, and ensuring that all products and procedures comply with necessary requirements / standards. The Compliance Manager will work closely with various teams to foster a culture of compliance and maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation & Record Management:
* Collect and verify data from suppliers
* Maintain and organise compliance documentation, including accreditation, product data, safety data sheets (SDS), and regulatory certifications
* Support the new supplier setup process and ensure all documents are completed, returned, and updated on the internal tracker
* Creation and maintenance of product specification sheets and documents on shared folders
Compliance Monitoring & Reporting:
* Monitor compliance activities across the organization to ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards
* Prepare regular reports on compliance status and issues for review by other stakeholders
* Proactively scope incoming legislation (e.g., EUDR, Plastic Packaging Tax, Circular Economy) and report on potential impact to the business
* Review product classifications regularly to verify accuracy
Audit Support:
* Support internal audits by preparing required documentation, coordinating with relevant teams, and tracking corrective actions
* Ensure all high-risk suppliers have a valid internal audit and are free to trade with
* Manage the supplier code of conduct process and ensure the database is maintained
* Take lead role with external auditors as required
Regulatory Research & Updates:
* Stay informed on current food safety, environmental, and health regulations applicable to our sectors
* Communicate any regulatory changes to relevant teams to ensure timely compliance
* Ensure food packaging suppliers provide Declarations of Conformity (DoCs) and migration certification for plastic items
* Work with the marketing team to ensure the most correct documents are on the company website
* Work with the Purchasing and Supply Chain Managers to regularly review supplier performance, identify trends, and take action to improve delivery performance
* Monitor product data and verify accuracy
* Ensure all necessary freight and duty costs are included in product cost build-ups for imported items
Customer Support:
* Complete customer ad hoc questionnaires and support the sales team with customer enquiries
Education & Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar role
