The Role – Regional Accounting Manager
This role is an integral part of the NL, BE & HQ finance team and will play a pivotal part in achieving the finance objectives and deliverables.
The primary responsibility of the Regional Accounting Manager is to a team of approx. 10fte, complete annual reviews, set goals and objectives for team members and provide valuable coaching.
Principal Responsibilities – Regional Accounting Manager
People Management
1. Responsible for +/- 10 staff
2. Annual Reviews to be completed
3. Annual goals to be set with staff
4. Finding the right balance between delegating tasks / responsibilities to team members and being hands-on and into the details.
5. Coaching of team members based on full and deep understanding of the business as well as the relevant processes, procedures, and policies.
Process Improvements & Standardisation
6. Develop and demonstrate a deep understanding of the business to be able to input into standardisation of processes across the P2P, O2C and R2R functions, working with colleagues in Europe, Asia and the US
7. Be proactive in leading improvements focused on operational excellence in the Finance teams
Financial Statements
8. All local Gaap stats to be prepared by the accountants in line with timelines provided
9. All relevant information to be provided to task in line with agreed timelines
10. Management of local audits in BE, NL, HQ & Emerging markets where required
11. Coordination with team and or third party providers to ensure that all local Gaap financial statements are signed and filed as per statutory requirements.
Ad-hoc
12. Taking initiative and showing eagerness to get involved in finance projects which may have a broader impact than just the R2R teams in BE/NL/CORP/Emerging markets
Requirements – Regional Accounting Manager
13. Qualified accountant, with experience in a multinational accounting environment
14. Fluent or Native German is preferred
15. Experience managing or leading teams
16. Experience of IFRS, UK/Irish GAAP and/or US GAAP beneficial
17. Real estate accounting experience & knowledge of lease accounting concepts advantageous
18. Understanding & working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley
19. Strong systems knowledge and intermediate/advanced Excel skills are required
20. Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Strong attention to detail.
21. Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
22. Ability to work as a team member.
23. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within limited time constraints.
