An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and qualified Chief Medical Scientist to join the Haematology Department at a leading private hospital in Dublin. This role is ideal for a senior scientist with significant experience and a dedication to delivering high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving advancements and maintaining the highest standards within the Haematology department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Haematology lab, ensuring compliance with both hospital and regulatory standards.
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide accurate and timely diagnostic support.
* Implement and monitor best practices in laboratory procedures and quality control, aiming for continuous improvement.
* Manage and mentor a team of medical scientists, fostering an environment of learning and development.
* Engage in strategic planning and department expansion initiatives, aligning laboratory services with the hospital's growth and patient care goals.
* Stay updated on technological advances, implementing new techniques or equipment where appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
* CORU Registration is Essential
* Master's Degree (MSc) in Biomedical Science or related field, with a specialisation in Haematology preferred.
* Minimum of 7 years' post-qualification experience in a medical science role, with at least 3 years in a senior position in a Haematology lab.
* Proven expertise in haematological diagnostics, methodologies, and quality management practices.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
