Responsibilities:Be the custodian of and own the company lifting standards, procedures, and operational protocols for all lifting activities.Implement best practices in lifting, rigging, and craneage.Be aware of tower crane types, safe specification, procurement, erection, use, and dismantling of tower cranes and crawlers.Manage a small team of localized APs to assure the highest quality of lift planning, surveillance, and feedback.Assess lifting operations to provide planning, selection of cranes, lifting gear and equipment, instruction, and supervision necessary for safe task execution.Establish accurate weights, radii, heights, etc.Ensure the ground is suitable for imposed loads.Provide suitable access to the site and areas required for crane erection and dismantling.Ensure adequate inspection and maintenance of equipment.Implement effective procedures for reporting defects and incidents and taking necessary corrective action.Identify hazards such as services above or below ground and take suitable precautions.Manage and oversee lifting operations and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.Supervise and coordinate site activities.Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.Monitor project progress and report to senior management.Obtain necessary approvals from third parties and reflect them in documentation and team briefings.Check for the presence of an Emergency Rescue Plan for the crane operator (as appropriate) and a Permit to Work (where applicable).Convey a Task Briefing to the whole lift team.Direct and supervise the lifting operation, ensuring compliance with the Method Statement (or Lift Plan) and Risk Assessment, giving clear instructions to all team members.Confirm that the geometry of the lift complies with the Method Statement (in the case of non-complex) or Lift Plan.Be fully conversant with the duties of all persons involved in the lifting operation.Audit the qualifications of personnel involved in the lift prior to commencement.Carry out training on behalf of the company to promote the discipline.Able to plan and arrange rigging and explain the process in detail.Must be Microsoft 365 proficient.AP Training essential with the ability to write and understand lift plans.Construction experience in data centers, semi-conductor, and pharma is a requirement.Fully understand BS7121 and IS361.Ability to understand CAD drawings.TW Awareness.Proficient in the use of Autodesk BIM360.Willing to travel and unrestricted movement across the EU - must be willing and eligible to travel weekly across Europe.Mercury is an equal opportunities employer.
