Operations Engineer Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Engineer to support our Asset Management Function in Statkraft Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

1. Attending site locations monthly and on an ad hoc basis across Ireland and the UK to perform site inspections of wind farm sites.
2. Completing annual wind turbine inspections, including regular climbing of turbines.
3. Liaising with outsourced operations and maintenance vendors to ensure contracts are effectively managed and services are delivered on time and to the right standard.
4. Supporting the operational controller function while in the office, including participating in on-call rotas.
5. Monitoring and ensuring optimal technical performance and analysis of wind assets.
6. Supporting the technical report writer for technical queries regarding wind farm sites.
7. Scheduling substation HV maintenance and maintaining good relations with relevant system operators to help maintain uptime of assets.
8. Ensuring operating assets are grid code compliant and that environmental and planning obligations are strictly adhered to.
9. Developing relationships with third-party clients, technicians, engineers, and contractors.
10. Liaising with landowners, neighbours, and local community groups regarding queries and funding requests.
11. Applying quality standards to asset operations (ISO 9001, OSHAS 18001, ISO 14001).
12. Interfacing and communicating with engineers, technicians, and contractors, coordinating with ESB, Eirgrid, and National Grid.
13. Complying with wind turbine safety rules and wind farm safety management.
14. Delivering services within agreed budgets and contributing to overall team targets and KPIs.
15. Exercising compliance within a safe work environment for all assets managed.
16. Working closely with a small team within the asset management function and playing an integral role in asset performance optimization.
17. Performing fault analysis and interrogation as required.
Requirements

* A relevant third-level qualification (e.g., mechanical, electrical, renewable energy, automation engineering) or relevant trade qualification and experience.
* A minimum of three years' previous experience working in an operations or maintenance role, ideally in an energy-related company.
* A full clean driving license is required, as work is site-based with flexibility to travel and remotely monitor wind farms outside normal hours as needed.
* Excellent analytical skills and reporting skills, being able to identify and analyze problems and potential improvements and propose/ implement solutions.
* The ability to perform in and be challenged by a team-based environment, with the ability to work autonomously and on own initiative.
* A high voltage electrical switching qualification is desirable but not essential, with full training provided.
* The capability to work at heights and demonstrate full fitness to climb and work in wind turbines, with wind turbine safety rules training preferred.
* A strong commercial focus on contract delivery and plant availability.
* Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
