Person in Charge (PIC) – Empowering Lives, Leading Teams
We are looking for a dedicated Person in Charge (PIC) to join our team and lead the delivery of holistic, person-centred care for individuals with intellectual, physical, or sensory disabilities. In this role, you will play a crucial part in promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for those in our care.
About the Role
As PIC, you will report to the Line Manager and lead a diverse team of social care workers, nurses, and care assistants. You will be a key advocate for empowering service users to live self-determined lives, while actively engaging with families, multi-disciplinary teams, psychologists, senior management, employers, and the wider community.
Your leadership will ensure that daily operations align with Aurora's values and vision, maintaining a high standard of care and professional best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team in delivering exceptional, person-centred care.
- Act as a primary liaison with families, healthcare professionals, and community stakeholders.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring that care services align with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes independence and quality of life for service users.
- Work collaboratively with the Line Manager in key decision-making processes.
About You

Qualifications
- Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Care, or Nursing (Intellectual Disability, Psychiatric, General, or Children's).
- Relevant Management qualification (required).
- CORU registration (where applicable).
Requirements
- Full, clean driving license and own transport (manual).
- 3+ years in a managerial health care role.
- Knowledge of HIQA standards and certification.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Proven leadership ability and experience in resource planning.
