Maynooth University is committed to a strategy in which the primary University goals of excellent research and scholarship and outstanding education are interlinked and equally valued.
We seek a postdoctoral researcher to join the project “(In)visible work: understanding and measuring research translation into policy”, which is funded by the Science Foundation Ireland within its Science Policy programme. We seek to appoint a postdoctoral researcher for a 16-month period, with the objective to support the Primary Investigator and the co-applicants in conducting qualitative and quantitative (survey, bibliometric) research.
The project focuses on the societal impact of academic research through its contribution to evidence-based policymaking. The focus of the postdoctoral researcher’s work will be predominantly (but not exclusively) on Work Package 2, which includes a mixed methods approach to collect evidence of policy engagement from the research community’s perspective, as well as on Work Package 3, which includes a mixed methods approach to understand current practices and needs in evidence-based/informed policy development in Ireland. There will be opportunities to co-lead the development of deliverables and present the findings at international conferences.
We are seeking a motivated candidate to strengthen our research group in Science Policy that investigates research-policy interactions and appropriate assessment methods for the societal impact of academia. We will particularly appreciate experience in qualitative research – ideally, with respondents who are at senior levels or in the public sector.
Post Doctoral Researcher (Level 1): €44,847 p.a. (1 Point- with increment)
