https://risk.lexisnexis.com/insuranceAbout our Team: You will be part of a team who use US insurance, property, weather, and other geo-spatial data from the various sources and platforms, to support our product suite of US property insurance underwriting and pricing.About the Job: We are seeking a passionate and experienced GIS Data Analyst to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geospatial data handling and processing, proficiency in working with large volumes of data, and a deep understanding of various types of geospatial data, and strong data handling and processing knowledge in general.
You will be responsible for processing and automating data workflows using advanced technologies and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities:Collecting, processing, and analyzing geospatial data, including weather-related data (flood, wind, hail, tornado/hurricane), property location dataManaging and integrating diverse datasets from varied sources such as census data, weather and property dataDesigning and implementing data processing workflows to ensure efficient data handlingAutomating data processing workflows using tools and scripting languages; Python, Pentaho Data IntegrationUtilizing open-source software such as QGIS for geospatial analysisWorking with cloud technologies like AWS and Azure for data storage, processing, and analyticsDeveloping and maintaining documentation for data processes and workflowsCollaborating with cross-functional teams to support data needs and analytic projectsEnsuring data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and cleansing processesRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related fieldExperience in a GIS data analysis roleProficiency in Python for data processing and automation a plusExperience with database management systems such as PostgreSQL and PostGIS a big plus (or good knowledge of a similar RDBMS)Proficiency in using open-source geospatial tools like QGISExperience in workflow automation (Pentaho Data Integration)Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and AzureAbility to handle and process large volumes of data efficientlyExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and commitment to data accuracyExcellent communication and collaboration skillsLearn more about the LexisNexis Risk team and how we work hereWe are an equal opportunity employer: qualified applicants are considered for and treated during employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship status, disability status, protected veteran status, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
