Elusav Recruitment have a great opportunity for a Business Unit Manager with an industry leading process systems engineering company in the Pharma/Biopharma sector, based in North Cork/Limerick. As the Business Unit Manager youwill focus on driving the growth of the Services & Maintenance business through proactive sales strategies, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: Be an active member of the Site SMT, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes. Develop and implement an annual sales plan to increase activity levels, with particular focus on expanding the service business through annual rolling contracts with existing customers and securing new business/customers. Directly responsible for achieving sales and profitability targets, identifying potential revenue growth opportunities within existing/new client accounts. Analyse market trends and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and tailor service offerings accordingly. Liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure project requirements are understood, leading to accurate estimation and pricing for sales. Establish and nurture strong customer relationships to drive repeat business and enhance customer loyalty. Identify potential project delivery issues upfront and proactively propose realistic and commercial solutions to customers. Understand project requirements thoroughly and coordinate resources to guide projects toward timely completion. Delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives. Manage resources effectively to ensure delivery dates are met in line with customer expectations and within budget. Responsible for ensuring adherence to all KPI's (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and People Development). Lead, mentor, and inspire the Service & Maintenance team to achieve goals and maintain high levels of performance. Champions a positive employee environment by promoting open communication, engagement, flexibility and team development. Ensures effective training and performance management processes are in place and executed. Maintain a training matrix for staff to ensure ongoing training and development, focusing on both technical and commercial aspects. Ensure that all projects are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, standards, procedures, and customer expectations. Foster a customer-focused approach among all staff, emphasizing the importance of quality in every aspect of the production process. Promote and further develop a culture of continuous improvement across the production team and lead initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality, and safety in production processes. Develop internal SOPs where required, processes, documentation, and training to ensure that team members have the skills and tools they need to deliver on project commitments. Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and drive improvements in safety culture and performance. Conduct regular safety audits and training to maintain a safe working environment. Communicate effectively across the department to foster strong partnerships and drive successful outcomes for the company and customers. Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and proactively managing any risks to schedules or commercial objectives. Requirements: Minimum of 7+ years experience in engineering, service, or site work within the pharmaceutical sector, with a strong focus on commercial responsibility and business development. Bachelors degree or equivalent in engineering or a related field; management experience is also desirable. Proven experience in managing teams in complex and competitive environments, with a strong emphasis on business development. Proficiency in project management and process optimization, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines. Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the manufacturing sector. Ability to manage budgets effectively and ensure resource allocation aligns with organizational goals. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve common objectives in a dynamic business environment. Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and a track record of implementing successful initiatives. Proven experience in implementing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimise and enhance operational efficiency.
