Position Description
The Sustainability Reporting Analyst plays a pivotal role in the organisation's sustainability efforts by supporting the Reporting Manager in the accurate and prompt reporting of sustainability performance from Business Units and at Group Level. With a focus on transparency, compliance, and effective communication, the analyst ensures that sustainability data is collected, analysed, and reported in a timely manner. This role is essential in driving the ESBs commitment to sustainability and fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design/Update/Maintain Data and Reporting Processes
2. Develop and refine processes for collecting, analysing, and reporting sustainability data
3. Ensure appropriate control activities in place including sign off’s
4. Stay updated on best practices and emerging standards
5. Collect and Consolidate Sustainability Data/Metrics
6. Gather and consolidate data related to sustainability factors
7. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data sets
8. Produce Reporting Packages
9. Prepare regular and ad-hoc sustainability reports for various reporting periods including annual sustainability report
10. Present data in a clear and understandable format
11. Manage Reporting Process
12. Run end-to-end reporting process, ensuring timelines are met and data quality is maintained
13. Work with BU sustainability leads across the group to meet national sustainability targets and stated corporate environmental goals
14. Reporting Governance
15. Implement and adhere to reporting governance frameworks, ensuring consistency and compliance with relevant standards and regulations
16. Engage with External and Internal Auditors
17. Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary information and ensure the accuracy and reliability of sustainability data
18. Supporting Assurance and Information Exchange Requests
19. Assist with assurance and information exchange requests, providing data and information as needed
20. Perform Pre-Assurance Activities
21. Conduct pre-assurance activities to ensure that sustainability data is prepared for external assurance processes
Experience and Qualifications
1. Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
2. 2+ years PQE reporting experience
3. Skilled in data collection, able to gather, record, and organize information from various sources
4. Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in sustainability data collection and reporting, coupled with continuous improvement mindset
5. Strong governance experience
6. Proficient in performance analysis, including analysing ESG performance data, identifying trends, variances, and insights, and providing meaningful commentaries
7. Good quantitative skills, capable of working with metrics, measurements, and KPIs
8. Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks
Location
This position is based in ESB Head Office, 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
