Your role and responsibilities
As a Graduate Automation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to support on medium to large automation projects, from functional design specifications and detailed engineering documentation through to implementation and testing. You will support in the design and implement technical batch applications using ABB’s 800xA system in the Pharmaceutical, BioTech, and Chemical Industries, providing both onsite and offsite support for the installed base. The work model for the role is: #onsite to based full time at our Cork office. This role is contributing to the Ireland, Process Automation – Energy Industries business. You will be mainly accountable for:
1. Participate in project technical design and clarification meetings.
2. Collaborate across different disciplines including Software, Hardware, Documentation, and Validation.
3. Understand and prepare FAT and SAT Test plans.
4. Support onsite and offsite system maintenance and service activities.
5. Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, with support from the health and safety team.
6. Develop logical solutions to meet customer requirements and interface with multiple diverse systems.
We're looking for an enthusiastic graduate to be part of our innovative team, guiding projects from front-end engineering design (FEED) all the way through to installation and commissioning.
Qualifications for the role
* Bachelor’s degree in electrical/software/automation engineering or a related discipline.
* Some experience with DCS/PLC programs is preferable but not essential.
* Ability to work with remote teams on projects across multiple locations.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Action-oriented and analytical.
* Ability to work well within a team environment and on own initiative.
* Strong organizational skills and technical knowledge.
* Flexible and proactive.
