The main purpose of the role will be to:
* Assist in the coordination of conferences, banquets, and events from planning stages to execution.
* Work closely with the Banqueting Manager to ensure all client requirements are met.
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff involved in conferences and banquets, including servers, event coordinators, and support staff.
* Provide guidance and support to ensure staff performs their duties effectively.
* Oversee the setup of event spaces, ensuring proper arrangement according to event type and client preferences.
* Coordinate logistical aspects, such as seating arrangements, equipment setup, and signage.
* Interact with clients and guests to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive experience.
* Monitor the quality of service delivery and take corrective actions as required.
* Train new staff members on conference and banqueting procedures, service standards, and customer interaction.
* Conduct ongoing training sessions to enhance the skills of existing staff.
* Ensure that events meet or exceed established quality standards.
* Conduct inspections to ensure proper setup, cleanliness, and adherence to safety regulations.
* Maintain effective communication with the Banqueting Manager, staff, and other departments.
* Relay important information to staff and address any issues promptly.
