Microsoft’s Cloud Infrastructure and Operations (MCIO) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Critical Environment Operations Manager, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform.
Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters in 32 countries and millions of servers. Our foundation is built upon and managed by a team of subject matter experts working to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1. High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability or environmental engineering) AND proven experience of mission-critical service management (e.g., providing IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military Data Center experience - sustainability, environmental management), or ESG programs in a critical environment
2. Proven experience in leading a diverse, technical team.

3. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications :
4. Enterprise-level experience managing large scale and complex projects/programs and 6+ years’ experience in working with and interpreting ESG regulations, circular economy, sustainability programs, environmental management programs, experience with construction of DC’s and standards (ISO 50001, ISO14001 etc)
5. ESG associated Masters.
6. Experience leading diverse, technical workforce or managing global and virtual teams.
7. Applicable certifications: PMP
8. Experience working on large scale projects
Responsibilities
9. Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of our Datacenter operations.
10. Contribute to the ESG strategic planning and implementation.
11. Lead a team of ESG professionals supporting Microsoft's ESG goals.
12. Lead sustainability programs rollout in EMEA.
13. Lead sustainability pilot implementation in EMEA.
14. Work with stakeholders to syntonise regulatory and strategic inputs to operationalise environmental compliance and sustainability compliance.
15. Create regional ESG and sustainability standards and best practices.
16. Manage performance of local sites ESG metrics and environmental sustainability compliance.
17. Deliver on cost/energy/water/carbon/waste efficiency initiatives.
18. Manage region wide ESG projects and regional alignment.
19. Ensure routine reporting to effectively manage and analyse our vendor management, SLA monitoring, local team ESG program alignment and drive leadership strategic planning.
20. Establish and enhance strong working relationships and engagement with our strategic partners.
21. Work with regional and global peers (cross functionally) to share and build best practices across the entire datacenter portfolio.
22. Develop and manage program OPEX budgets.
23. Ensure sufficient resourcing to allow successful implementation of projects.
24. Create and rollout sustainability engagement and training programs.
