As a result, our people get to enjoy working on some of the most exciting projects in the world.Job DescriptionWorking as part of the new Client's Digital Function, you will be working in the Geospatial and Asset Information team to support core information systems such as the Project CDE including GIS, project information systems and asset management systems.Under the direction of the Senior GIS Specialist you will be responsible for assisting with the development of the Client GIS solution to serve the spatial information needs of the project. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, managing and publishing the projects spatial content and should have experience with the ESRI suite of GIS software solutions including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online (AGOL).The successful candidate should have experience of working in a highly collaborative environment and should feel comfortable engaging with staff at all levels of the business as well as key project stakeholders, internal and external. Previous experience working with GIS solutions in a project-based environment is desired, preferably utilising ESRI GIS and CAD solutions (Microstation/AutoDesk). In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate experience in assimilating content from multiple sources (e.g. CAD, GIS, unstructured data) and repurposing to share with the project team. Knowledge of map projections, data schemas and utilising Exchange-Transform-Load (ETL) tools such as FME will be an advantage.The successful candidate will be organised, an excellent communicator and able to deal with businesses delivering to high-pressure client deadlines. The role requires a candidate with excellent interpersonal skills, experience engaging with project stakeholders, and the ability to work independently. An organised and systematic approach to work is a must.Principal AccountabilitiesWorking on the maintenance and enhancement of Client’s GIS DatabaseWorking with the Senior GIS Specialist and Client staff responsible for the management of the projects various workstreams and the spatial content they generate as part of their workMaintaining and updating the projects spatial content gathered as part of project activities in the following areas;DesignAdvance SurveysAsset DataEnvironmentGeoTechnicalStakeholder informationActively participate in data gathering to further enhance the contents of the GIS Database for Client, this will involve working with data from variety of sources such as CAD files and spreadsheets as well as liaising with third parties who supply information to the project.Working collaboratively with your colleagues working in the Digital Function to deliver best in class digital solutions for Client.Actively participate in the development of training supports for Client's staff utilising GIS capabilitiesDeveloping cartographic templates for use in GIS projectsProduction of printed mapping material for the projectContribute to the creation of GIS web applications and help establish Client’s GIS Open Data Hub and GeoSpatial Hub.Undertaking such tasks, activities or other duties as may be required or assigned QualificationsExperience, Skills and QualificationsExperienceAt least 3-5 years’ experience working with GIS and CAD in engineering or related disciplineSkillsA track record of dealing with spatial data and a working knowledge of spatial solutions like ArcGIS Pro and experience of the ESRI GIS suite of GIS solutionsExperience of working with spatial tools, technologies and workflows on major construction contractsFamiliarity with Open Data and web services provided by third parties that can be utilised by the MetroLink projectGood interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, with experience in report writing and preparing presentations of a technical nature.A clear interest in GIS, spatial data and a willingness to develop your skills and expertise in this areaKnowledge of Tailte Eireann (formerly Ordnance Survey of Ireland (OSI)) and the spatial services they provideA track record of dealing with spatial data and a working knowledge of spatial programmes like ArcGIS and experience using ArcGIS toolsFoster partnership with colleagues and key stakeholders.
