The successful candidate will lead strategic projects and business development initiatives across the Irish Medtech Skillnet and Medtech and Engineering Apprenticeship teams.. Management for existing large impact/critical projects to ensure commercial impact of the project is achieved. The role also encompasses ownership of the development projects undertaken by the Apprenticeships, Springboard and Skillnet’s across the team, managing stakeholder engagement and scoping of funding opportunities that will align with the strategic goals of the Networks.
The primary responsibility is the identification and development of business opportunities across the Funded networks within Medtech and Engineering Funded projects, which will include the responsibility for the delivery and management of projects across and within networks. The role will report directly to the Head of Funded projects for Medtech and Engineering. It will involve the coordination of business and funding project activities across the networks, including identification and development of activities to deliver on commercial projects for the funded networks (i.e., Skillnet’s, Apprenticeships and Springboard).
This position is a specified purpose contract covering a period of maternity leave. The closing date for applications is 28th March.
ABOUT THE ROLE
* Coordinate the activities of network stakeholders, primarily the management of strategic and business development projects of the networks.
* Identify and lead key business development projects across the networks to ensure that multistakeholder management is at the core of all activities.
* Scope out cross-functional funding opportunities and identify gaps in the training activities of the networks.
* Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the highest quality business engagement, in line with the cross-functional strategies of the network.
* Lead the key business development projects within the Irish Medtech Skillnet and Medtech and Engineering Apprenticeships.
* Identify opportunities for future funding applications across each of the networks and coordinate cross functional applications.
* Support the operational excellence agenda and drive continuous improvement in the cross functional operating model.
* Undertake other duties as directed by the Head of Funded projects for Medtech & Engineering
* Work with the broader Management Team in supporting the delivery of the Strategic cross-functional activities.
* Ensure optimum efficiency and compliance to the relevant government agency policies, procedures, and specifications.
* Ensure flexibility to back-up network managers where the need is identified.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Strong Project management experience, capable of working across a number of different projects simultaneously.
* Skilled in organising the work of oneself and others and competent at managing complex and competing business priorities between and within the networks.
* Knowledge of Business Development and Project Management.
* Very strong interpersonal skills in particular the ability to manage strategic relations between a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
* Skill in both verbal and written communications, including report writing and editing.
* Strong communicator using a variety of competencies such as public speaking, presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
* Ability to lead, develop and bring stakeholders along to support activities of a project.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and identify potential short falls and strong ability to multitask, delegate and organise.
Role Requirements:
* Business development and project manager with extensive stakeholder management experience and complex service delivery model.
* An independent thinker with experience in business development roles, operating at management level.
* Capable of demonstrating commercial acumen, with a track record of effective management in a complex stakeholder environment.
* Extensive experience in Project Management with a proven ability to deliver multiple concurrent high value projects.
* Possess a high level of technical competence and experience in project management with a track record of achievement.
* Well organised with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and high attention to detail.
* Self-directed and resilient, taking personal responsibility for the delivery of goals and objectives and overcoming challenges.
* Possess first-class communication skills (verbal and written), with an ability to collaborate and gain the commitment of stakeholders.
