Clinical Nurse Manager I Day Ward
UPMC Aut Even Hospital is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager I Day Ward on a full-time, permanent basis. The post of CNM I has a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of the Surgical Day Service ensuring optimum patient flow and efficiency with the elective surgical patient.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support the CNMII to manage patient care to ensure the highest professional standards using an evidence-based, care planning approach.
* Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership.
* Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, delivery, and review of service user care by all staff in designated areas.
Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to service users within the guidelines laid out by NMBI (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland). Participate in teams/meetings/committees as appropriate, communicating and working in co-operation with other team members. Facilitate co-ordination, co-operation, and liaison across healthcare teams.
Managerial Responsibilities:
* Support the CNM11 to provide the necessary supervision, co-ordination, and deployment of nursing and support staff to ensure the optimum delivery of care in the designated area through allocating work fairly and competently.
* Support the CNM11 with communication at ward and departmental level and facilitate team building. Support staff leadership and motivation which is conducive to good working relations and work performance.
* Assist the CNM 11 to manage all resources efficiently and effectively. Support with change management. Promote, facilitate, and participate in the development of nursing policies and procedures.
Maintain all necessary clinical and administrative records and reporting arrangements. Ensure that the care delivered to patients/clients is a result of individual assessment of care needs and actively promote this within the ward team.
Clinical Governance:
* Participate in innovation and change in the approach to patient care delivery, and contribute to service planning process, based on best practice, particularly in relation to new research findings and advances in treatment.
* Lead and maintain the principles of clinical governance including quality, risk, and health & safety and be individually responsible for clinical governance, risk management, and health & safety issues within their own work area.
* Accurately record and report incidents, near misses, and/or verbal complaints to appropriate personnel according to Hospital Policy.
Able to act quickly to address urgent matters. Possess well-developed leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Ensure their professional and personal persona positively reflects the profession of nursing and Aut Even Hospital.
Registered in the General Division of the live Register of Nurses kept by NMBI. Have completed a Management Course or commit to undertake same. Be a minimum of 3 years qualified and have previous experience within a Medical environment. Previous management experience is desirable.
