At Vertiv, our LV Switchgear & Busbar divisions design and manufacture electrical distribution equipment for business-critical applications throughout Europe. Due to continued growth, Vertiv is seeking a skilled and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team in Burnfoot and play a key role in optimizing our supply chain and ensuring the seamless movement of goods from point of origin to final destination.
As the Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our company's logistics operations. From coordinating transportation and distribution to managing inventory of packaging materials and implementing efficient processes, you will play a crucial role in maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.
Responsibilities
* Ensure a safe place of work for all employees, contractors, and visitors engaged in any aspects of logistics activity.
* Ensure that all personnel follow all safety and environmental requirements and instructions while on site.
* Manage and coordinate the activities of the logistics and shipping teams in Burnfoot, Campsie, and Letterkenny.
* Ensure the timely availability of all packaging materials, including pallets, foil bags, stretch wrap, and other consumables.
* Ensure the timely and cost-effective provision of lifting equipment, transport, and manpower required to safely move and load products.
* Ensure the smooth transfer of materials and products across the globe through compliance with trade requirements.
* Ensure all necessary documentation is completed, correct, and relevant for efficient transfer across shipping routes.
* Keep the logistics function informed and up to date with current transport regulations.
* Manage contracts with transport companies or logistics service providers ethically.
* Manage transactions relating to scrap materials with respect to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.
* Actively pursue efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities in logistics services.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
* At least 5 years of logistics management experience, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
* Strong understanding of logistics principles, practices, and technologies.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze data and develop effective strategies.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing logistics operations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant logistics software.
