EU Projects Specialist (24-month Fixed Term Contract)

Role Purpose:
Our client is seeking an EU Projects Specialist to coordinate the implementation of responsibilities within EU-funded projects. The successful candidate will be strategic, results-driven, and comfortable managing a wide variety of project tasks. This role requires someone with strong initiative, excellent communication skills, and a track record of successful project management.
Key Responsibilities:
EU Projects Management (approx. 35%):
1. Lead stakeholder engagement with key EU project partners and business networks involved in project implementation.
2. Plan and coordinate the delivery of project activities focused on skills needs assessments, training programme design, and dissemination, aligned with relevant EU programmes.
3. Embed EU project implementation processes within teams to develop in-house expertise.
EU Projects Implementation (approx. 45%):
1. Oversee the execution of project deliverables, ensuring timely submission of technical and financial reports.
2. Participate in and coordinate project meetings, sharing updates and presentations.
3. Organise events, training, and workshops related to project work packages.
4. Contribute to the development of case studies and communication documents showcasing project impact.
Budgeting and Financial Planning (approx. 20%):
1. Support in identifying appropriate financial and operational approaches for EU project implementation.
2. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to successfully manage project budgets.
3. Provide assistance with EU bid submissions as needed.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
1. 3rd level qualification in business, European affairs, project/programme management, or a related discipline.
2. Proven track record in EU project management and implementation, engaging with SMEs, training providers, or higher education institutions.
3. Strong proficiency in EU project rules and procedures, particularly in Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, or Digital Europe programmes.
4. 3-5 years of experience in project implementation, including setting up and managing EU projects.
5. Financial literacy with experience in budgeting and delivering projects within agreed budgets.
6. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence internal and external partners.
7. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage at all organisational levels.
8. Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
9. Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Office, Asana, and PowerBI.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
1. Technical knowledge in the learning and development sector would be advantageous.
