Role Title: Project Manager
Role Description & Responsibilities:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join their team. Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, you will oversee a full project team and associated subcontractors, ensuring the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of works within budget and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
General Site Management:
* Day-to-day management of the site, including supervision and monitoring of site labour and subcontractors.
Health and Safety:
* Ensure works are delivered safely, with support from the Site Manager, EHS Advisor, and Contracts Manager.
* Ensure subcontractors follow approved method statements and risk assessments.
* Deliver daily site briefings to manage interface risks between subcontractors.
* Maintain the highest standards of site housekeeping.
* Report all safety incidents and accidents in accordance with company protocols.
* Prepare method statements and risk assessments as needed.
* Contribute to achieving a Zero Harm workplace for all workers and third parties.
Technical/Quality Management:
* Supervise site engineering activities, including setting out and surveying.
* Ensure projects are delivered snag-free to client satisfaction.
* Coordinate with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers, and Services Coordinator to provide timely and accurate information.
* Resolve technical difficulties and unexpected site issues.
* Verify materials and workmanship against specifications and drawings.
* Ensure subcontractors follow approved Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs) and sign off inspection records.
* Manage the RFI and submittals process, keeping registers up to date.
Project & Team Management:
* Act as the first point of contact for client and designer liaison.
* Collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, and quantity surveyors to ensure successful project completion.
* Manage material and plant requisitions.
* Stay familiar with contract documents.
* Monitor progress against the programme, escalating risks of delay to the Contracts Manager.
* Assist in producing and revising contract and sub-programmes.
* Ensure accurate weekly plant, labour, and materials records.
* Maintain company-owned equipment in good working order.
* Represent the business professionally and courteously at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
* Relevant qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent technical degree).
* Minimum 7 years' experience in construction management, with prior project management experience.
* Familiarity with public works contracts and RIAI forms.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Ability to read, understand, and create contractual requirements and reports.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
* Experience mentoring junior teams.
* Understanding of BIM and digital construction technologies.
* Proficiency in IT and innovation skills.
* Strong organisation and time management abilities.
* Ability to build lasting relationships with clients, staff, and subcontractors.
* Team-oriented mindset with influencing skills.
