Job Description:
A dynamic and experienced production manager is required to join the senior management team of a UK leading Specialist Joinery and Fit Out Manufacturer.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the detailed planning and overall organisation of manufacturing in the workshop, ensuring all output targets are met in terms of quantity, quality, unit costs and project requirements.
This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires the ability to adapt and prioritise a complex workload. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, with the ability to direct and motivate a production workforce effectively.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Taking receipt of works orders from in-house Project Managers
* Organising and communicating requirements and particulars of each Work order to Team leads in production readiness meetings
* Monitoring and ensuring on-time production through Machining, Assembly, Finishes and despatch using the company ERP scheduler and physical checks on the floor
* Attending weekly Production meetings with colleagues and directors
* Attending daily morning SQPDC meetings and reporting any concerns to be contained and rectified
* Controlling risk and encouraging a positive health and safety culture
* Capturing Non-Conformances and determining root causes and countermeasures using problem-solving skills, logging into the company ERP system
* Ensuring Statutory H&S Checks are carried out on time, as per schedule and logged into IMS/ERP
* Ensuring Safe Working Practices are upheld
* Liaising with SHEQ department on training requirements for operatives
* Monitoring and controlling stores and stock by liaising with the Buyer and Store person
* Ensuring workshop cleanliness
* Monitoring and controlling annual leave requests using our annual leave system
Essential Criteria:
* Demonstrating a proven track record of at least 3 years in effective communication skills with strong leadership in directing and motivating a production workforce
* Ability to use standard IT systems effectively, such as Microsoft Office, and comprehend manufacturing drawings and specification packages
* Knowledge of implementing modern manufacturing process thinking within a quality management system
