**Director (Two Posts)**
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is an independent regulatory body, established under the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992. Its purpose is to protect, improve and restore the environment through regulation, scientific knowledge and collaboration with others.
Directors report directly to the Director General and hold a dual role as Board Members and Executive leaders responsible for overseeing the work of one of the EPA's Offices.
Two upcoming vacancies exist:
* Director of the Office of Communications and Corporate Services
* Director of the Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring
Office of Communication and Corporate Services (OCCS)
The OCCS provides various support functions for the EPA's 550 staff members, including human resource management, learning and development, health safety and welfare, facilities management, financial management, corporate governance, communications and information technology.
Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring (ORM)
The ORM oversees a range of environmental protection and radiological matters across areas such as air quality, water safety, radiation protection, noise pollution, chemical management, nuclear safety and emergency preparedness, strategic environmental assessment, and state of the environment reporting.
This office also regulates Uisce Éireann and is responsible for water services oversight and enforcement.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for these positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Hold an appropriate qualification at NFQ Level 8 or higher in Science, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
* Possess significant knowledge or experience related to environmental and/or radiological protection matters.
* Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years of senior management experience, demonstrating a proven track record of significant achievement as a leader and senior manager in a medium or large-sized organisation.
