Clinical Nurse Manager II Shift Leader Emergency Department (Permanent) (Under the Governance of Mercy University Hospital Cork CLG.) The CNM 2 is an essential member of the Emergency Department Team. The post of CNM 2 is central to the co-ordination and management of activity and resources within the Emergency Department. The CNM2 is responsible for a quality nursing practice within the Emergency Department. The role is collaborative across all disciplines there in. Responsibilities - The post holder will be responsible for; Assumes responsibility for the clinical environment during the shift to ensure the provision of quality patient care by acting as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.Collaborates with the Clinical Nurse Manager 3/Assistant Directors of Nursing in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing services.Participates with ADON patient flow in the patient ED journey, using appropriate pathways, including escalation in a timely manner.Ensures that every effort is made in the department to meet national key performance indicators and targets e.g. optimum patient flow, PET times, Ambulance turnaround times. Communicates with colleagues to provide safe quality healthcare to patients. This includes all written and verbal communication. Supports junior colleagues, nursing and other healthcare students in the learning and on-going development of their professional values, practice and conduct. Eligibility Criteria - Candidates:Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland {NMBI}Have at least 5 years post registration experience of which 2 must be in the speciality or related area of Emergency Nursing Post Graduate Higher Diploma in Emergency Nursing or equivalent is desirable. Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS), Paediatric Life Support (PLS), Manchester Triage System (MTS), Irish Children’s Triage System (ICTS) – must be completed within 6 months of commencement of post.Provide evidence of clinical and professional managerial ability, leadership, communication and organisational skills.
