Your new company works with a facilities management firm that handles several pharmaceutical and medical device contracts in the Connacht/Northwest region.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician in the Donegal/Sligo area.
About This Role
You will assist and take ownership of providing high-quality facilities and planned maintenance activities, enabling the business to operate safely, comfortably, productively, and cost-effectively.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of planned and unplanned maintenance of plant and utilities, adhering to the companies' and clients' EHS and Quality standards.
This role requires working 7pm-7am shifts.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* To perform a range of duties covering electrical, mechanical, and general building fabric maintenance.
* To carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment under our control as per the Plant CMMS/CAFM system.
* To proactively identify and remedy equipment maintenance issues, maximizing equipment uptime.
* Servicing of electrical, mechanical, and non-technical equipment.
* Liaising with the service desk/supervisor and responding to all non-technical and technical queries in a timely manner to ensure conformance with the relevant Service Level Agreement.
* To carry out fault-finding and repairs to broken-down equipment, contacting and coordinating service engineers where external assistance is required.
* Maintaining appropriate records in line with requirements.
* Assisting in the installation of new plant and equipment.
* Liaising with department engineers and other support personnel to identify and solve problems.
* Assisting with all queries regarding quotations and purchasing when requested.
* Maintaining and maximizing the use of client CMMS/CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) system and ensuring all works are completed and closed within the agreed timeframe.
* Always ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and legislative requirements.
* Ensuring that EH&S procedures are always adhered to.
* Contributing to targets related to Safety, Quality, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement.
* Always maintaining the workshop and maintenance stores areas in a tidy condition.
* Ability to source materials and generate quotations as required.
Requirements
* Previous relevant experience.
* A full clean driving licence is required.
* Experienced in the following areas: PPM on all electrical equipment such as Boilers, Emergency lighting, Data & Telecoms equipment, Motive power, General lighting, Thermal Imaging (preference but not essential), Fixed electrical testing, PAT testing, Water & booster pumps, HVAC equipment, i.e. pumps, chillers, A/C split units etc. (electrical only), Generator maintenance, UPS maintenance, LV, MV & HV experience, BMS experience, Automation & controls experience.
* Qualifications and Experience: Electrical Senior Trades or Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Experience in the following areas - Utilities/Facilities.
* Formal training/certification in any of the above would be advantageous.
* Basic computer knowledge essential.
* Proven track record in Preventative and Reactive Maintenance in a similar environment.
