What's the Opportunity?We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic maintenance team at UCD. You will lead a group of multi-skilled operatives, ensuring that all maintenance tasks and repairs are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. This role requires strong organisational skills, technical expertise, and leadership ability, as you will oversee daily operations, quality control, and team management.
Level:Reporting to Facilities Manager
Direct Reports:Between 7 to 14 technicians (qualified technicians and apprentices)
Lead and supervise a team of multi-skilled operatives, providing guidance and support as neededPrioritise and allocate tasks based on urgency, skillset, and resource availabilityOversee the scheduling and coordination of repairs, preventative maintenance, and additional worksMaintain a forward–thinking approach by identifying potential repair and maintenance opportunities during quieter periodsCoordinate with the team and third–party contractors to schedule non–urgent or preventative work when service demands are low, ensuring continuous productivity and optimal resource useAnticipate high demand times and plan for additional support needed to maintain service quality during this timeMonitor stock levels and manage inventory, ensuring all necessary parts and tools are availableOrder parts, materials, and equipment as needed, maintaining relationships with suppliersConduct quality control inspections to ensure that completed works meet the required standardsLiaise with third-party contractors, ensuring that their work is carried out safely and efficiently.
