Job Description:
Role Purpose
The primary role of the Person in Charge/Manager of Respite Services is to effectively manage the respite service/resource in line with regulatory and best practice requirements. Ensuring that the respite service maintains high quality and a core philosophy of equity at its centre.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage, plan, and coordinate all Respite Services, including the respite homes.
* Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to Service Users and manage the respite homes/designated centre(s) ensuring effective management of staff team and resources.
* Liaise with and work with the Stewarts Care Respite Committee.
* Engage and build relationships with families as a key feature of the role.
Requirements
* Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or have completed a Social Care (Honours) Degree.
* Meet the requirements of the Health Act (2007) Regulations (2013) regarding the Person in Charge.
* Have good knowledge of HIQA Standards and Health Act (2007) and associated Regulations and Guidance; and knowledge of national policies in the disability sector.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a management role. Experience working in Respite Services would be an advantage.
* Excellent computer literacy and information technology skills.
* Excellent report writing skills.
* Capable of effectively communicating, adapting to individual, group, and situation needs.
* Proven organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise, and monitor delivery and progress.
* Up-to-date, valid Irish Driving License.
