The role Digital Communications Manager 1.0WTE Full Time, Specified Purpose Contract (to cover maternity leave of 12 months) The Digital Communications Manager in SPMHS will develop and oversee the implementation of cross-platform content strategies, raising the organisations brand awareness and driving engagement, through the creation and dissemination of multimedia content online and within digital health platforms.
The Digital Communications Manager will report to the Director of Communications and Advocacy.
The Digital Communications Manager position is a hybrid role.
While it is predominantly based remotely, the role requires working at least one day a week from St Patricks University Hospital in Dublin 8, with additional onsite and in-person working as required (dependent on various activities, projects, and tasks, and including various SPMHS and/or external locations).

Responsibilities To develop and oversee the implementation of a content strategy* for the organisations digital platforms, including two websites, the staff Intranet, and social media channels.
*Content includes all multimedia articles, eNewsletters, blog posts, infographics, images, audio, or video that aid in fostering the organisations presence and engagement online.
To manage and oversee a project to redesign the organisations public-facing websites, working with the chosen website agency and multiple stakeholders to plan, create content for, test and launch user-friendly, responsive, and accessible websites that support a more effective, efficient, and engaging online presence.
To develop digital and social media policies and practices for the organisation, incorporating the various platforms and content types, for example, a house style for web content and community management practices.
To oversee the development of internal governance structures to ensure that content shared through digital health platforms is published and maintained with care.
To develop editorial and social content calendars for the organisations digital channels, liaising with relevant SPMHS staff and partners where needed, and to oversee the dissemination of content across all platforms.
To manage the production of diverse forms of content from preparing and editing written information guides to coordinating video production for digital health platforms.
To monitor content performance, maintain ownership of analytics and reporting, and identify opportunities for enhancing performance of and engagement with digital content.
To create, edit, curate and commission shareable content for all platforms (photo, video, audio, blogs, infographics, graphics), engaging and liaising with relevant staff and/or third-party agencies where needed.
To create design briefs for digital and social campaigns, and to oversee digital needs of advocacy campaigns, ensuring brand consistency across all formats and platforms.
To oversee the performance and management of the content management systems (CMSs) for the organisations public-facing websites, working with digital staff and developers to ensure the CMS continually meet the needs of the organisation.
To plan and conduct audits to ensure accuracy of and identify gaps and opportunities for enhancement of website content, in conjunction with digital staff and wider members of the organisation as needed.
To manage digital staff and budget, and to foster third party vendor relationships as required.
To identify opportunities for the enhancement of content and digital performance and maximisation of resources on an ongoing basis.

Working Week: The hours applying to this position will be 35 hours per week.

Salary: The salary for the position is based on the Clerical Grade VII 2024 pay scale, €64,500 - €70,656, and is commensurate with experience.
Annual Leave The annual leave associated with the position is 26 days per annum.
Pension: All pensionable staff become members of the pension scheme after successful completion of probation.
The scheme is a defined contribution scheme with a deduction from the salary of the employee of 4%.In respect of an internal appointment being made, the individuals existing pension arrangements will continue.
Probation: The appointee will be appointed in a probationary capacity for the first six months during which time the job holders performance will be subject to ongoing review.Any extension to or suspension of the period of probation will be in line with the European Union (Transparent and Predictable Working Conditions) 2022.
