We are a leading construction company seeking an experienced Site Engineer to oversee our projects in Sligo.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
You will work under the supervision of a Site Manager/Project Manager and be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely execution of our projects according to budgetary, programmatic, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
General Management
* Manage day-to-day site operations, including supervising labor forces and subcontractors.
Health and Safety
* Ensure all works are carried out safely, with support from the Site Manager, EHS Advisor, and Contracts Manager, adhering to legislative requirements.
* Verify that contractors follow their approved method statements and risk assessments.
* Assist the Site Manager or Foreman in conducting daily site briefings to ensure safe interfaces between subcontractors.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
* Report all safety incidents and accidents to the Safety Advisor and Company Directors according to company protocols.
* Prepare method statements and risk assessments as needed.
* Achieve our goal of Zero Harm on all worksites for workers and third parties we interact with.
Technical and Quality Assurance
* Conduct setting out and surveying activities using robotic total stations and dumpy levels for various building trades.
* Ensure project completion meets client satisfaction standards.
* C-coordinate and liaise with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers, and Services Coordinator to provide timely and accurate information to subcontractors and site personnel.
* Resolve unexpected technical difficulties and other problems arising from revised details or situations on site.
* Assist the Site Manager in providing technical expertise to subcontractors, craftspeople, and operatives.
* Ensure all materials used and work performed meet specifications and drawing requirements.
* Verify that subcontractors execute their works according to approved Inspection and Testing Plans and sign off inspection records as required.
* Manage and maintain the RFI register on site.
* Manage and maintain the submittals register on site.
Management
* Serve as the primary point of contact on site for client and designer liaison.
* Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce to ensure timely successful project completion.
* Manage material and plant requisitions on site.
* Familiarize yourself with contract documents supplied by the client/architect.
* Monitor progress against the Contract Programme and escalate delays or risk of delay to the Site Manager to mitigate.
* Assist in producing and revising contract and sub-programmes with the Contracts Manager & Planner.
* Ensure weekly issuance of plant, labor, and materials records to Head Office.
* Ensure company-owned plant and equipment is properly maintained.
* Act professionally and protect the business position while interacting with clients and stakeholders.
