About the Job
In this role you will manage the day-to-day operations of the packaging department to ensure all
internal/external customer requirements are met, develop procedures for packaging associates
ensuring customer and quality requirements are adhered to.
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all Packaging Operations activities,
including:
* Developing and executing the functional business plan for the packaging department.
* Maintain all costs within budget.
* Provide Packaging Management support on New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
* Plan, direct and monitor projects against schedule within agreed costs and in accordance with company deadlines, meeting revenue goals each year as assigned by Head of Commercial Operations.
* Providing excellent communication with all clients (internal & external) at all times, managing all current and new customers packaging related requirements, ensuring customers are completely satisfied and receive defect free services and products.
* Ensuring proper people, material, equipment, facilities, systems, etc. are available.
* Overseeing departmental processes, coordinating inter-departmental activities, creation of guidelines, internal procedures and batch documentation.
* Review or update packaging practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
* Ensuring employees working within the area are trained to conform to company, cGMP, SOPs, Specifications, and Regulatory requirements.
* Monitoring supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
* Negotiating prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
* Monitoring forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on delivery activities.
* Participating in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
* Support the introduction of new Management Execution System (MES) strategic project at Eirgen.
* Developing and maintaining a High-Performance Packaging Operations team by providing direction and guidance, managing, motivating, coaching and mentoring the team, maintaining and developing the positive progressive culture within Eirgen.
* Ensuring requirements of Eirgen Safety Statement are implemented, continuously promoting a positive safety culture by leading by example.
* Participating as part of site management team into effective running of the business.
About you
You possess a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and have 6+ years of experience, ideally in pharma, with at least 3 years of managerial experience. You also have significant experience with desktop and software applications. Experience in implementation/operation of an operations MES system is desirable.
You will draw from your many skills such as decision making, planning, multi-tasking and time management. You have the ability to form positive relationships and enjoy collaborating, gaining knowledge, continuous improvement and solving problems.
