Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer
This is a rare opportunity to work on capex and new equipment for a brand-new facility in North East Ireland, specifically in the Cavan/Monaghan/Louth area. The successful candidate will be part of an established company's project team.
Role Objectives:
The Mechanical Project Engineer will report to the Mine Maintenance supervisor and be responsible for designing, procuring, installing, and maintaining products and equipment that support the site's continued development and improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage projects to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery, in agreement with the mine manager.
- Project manage all mine-related projects, developing scopes, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Confer with Mine maintenance and facilities supervisor, project teams, and maintenance department to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, provide technical information, and implement sustaining actions.
- Lead and manage mechanical projects across mining and quarrying operations.
- Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Research, design, evaluate, procure, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crew.
- Ensure installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of machines and ensure equipment is installed and functioning according to specifications.
- Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
- Recommend design modifications having identified the real root cause to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
