Job Description
The financial accountant plays a crucial role in our organization, responsible for month-end reporting, statutory accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls, tax, and company secretariat tasks.
This role is supported by the Finance Excellence Centre (FEC) in Maidenhead, UK, and the Global Transaction Centre (GTC) in Manila.
Responsibilities:
* Accounting & Reporting:
o Prepare monthly and annual business reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
o Record all month-end journals and generate SAP reports to review and analyze month-end numbers.
o Manage the external audit and serve as the key liaison point throughout the process.
* Controls:
o C coordinate compliance with internal controls across the Irish business.
o Assess the control environment and report results to head office.
* Business Partnering:
o Oversee indirect and customer service/logistics costs, working with local and UK teams to ensure targets are met.
o Prepare and maintain the OWC forecast for the year, collaborating with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure Ireland meets JDE targets.
o Communicate and agree recharges with the UK and Central teams.
* Treasury:
o Liaise with central treasury regarding cash pooling.
o Manage local bank accounts with support from the GTC team.
* Tax:
o Prepare local VAT returns using the JDE in-house system.
o Submit tax returns to Irish Revenue.
o Manage the relationship with external tax partner PwC for corporation tax returns.
* Company Secretarial:
o File statutory accounts and returns as required by local regulations in Ireland.
* Commercial Finance:
o Prepare quarterly trade investment reconciliations to SAP and highlight potential opportunities and risks.
o Collaborate with the Revenue Management team on strategy and investment.
* Ad Hoc:
o Manage the relationship with 3rd party stakeholder Greenstreet, obtaining and supplying packaging information on a timely basis to comply with Ireland's recycling legislation.

To excel as a financial accountant, you should possess the following:
* Education:
o Finance, Accounting, or Business degree (or equivalent)
o Fully qualified accountant
