Your Role:
The Sustainability Strategy and Governance Senior Manager will oversee and manage the day-to-day delivery of the Bank's Sustainability Strategy and Sustainability to the Head of Sustainability. This role will oversee and manage all Sustainability Governance, Communications, and Training, alongside managing the Bank's Carbon Reduction Plan and Social and Community Programmes.
The Sustainability Strategy and Governance Senior Manager will champion the Bank's Sustainability agenda and be a forward-thinking, strategic leader who maximises Sustainability opportunities as part of PTSB's overall Business Strategy.
Your Team:
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, you will be accountable for leading PTSB's Sustainability Strategy, Governance, and Social Impact Team as part of the Bank's Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Function. The Sustainability Strategy, Governance, and Social Impact Team is responsible for setting and overseeing the delivery of the Sustainability Strategy, Governance, Communications, and Training programmes. In addition, this team is responsible for Carbon Management, Science Based Targets and Carbon Reduction Plans, as well as the Bank's Community Partnerships and Social Impact agenda.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Lead a team of Sustainability specialists fostering an inclusive high-performance culture within the function, ensuring team members are developed to meet organisational goals through effective coaching in a supportive and motivating environment.
2. Work alongside the Head of Sustainability in engaging stakeholders bankwide to develop a refreshed Sustainability Strategy for PTSB and oversee day-to-day delivery and implementation of this Strategy.
3. Oversee all Sustainability communications, including the launch of the refreshed Sustainability Communications Strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
Enterprise Leadership:
1. Use strong leadership skills to build partnerships across the organisation and ensure buy-in and ownership for delivery of the Bank's refreshed Sustainability Strategy.
2. Provide advisory support and guidance to the business on a variety of Sustainability topics within your area of responsibility including Sustainability training requirements, external ESG Risk Ratings, assessments and certifications, Carbon Reduction Plans and community partnerships.
Risk Management & Control:
1. Responsibility for developing and updating Sustainability Frameworks, Policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and the Bank's Sustainability commitments.
2. Take ownership of ensuring that the Bank's Internal Control Framework adequately incorporates Sustainability, including Climate-related and Environmental Risk.
Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Responsibility for all Sustainability communications internally and externally and partner with the Corporate Affairs Team to develop a Communications Strategy that adequately represents the Bank's progress in Sustainability.
2. Engage with external stakeholders as required to present the Bank's Sustainability Strategy delivery and goals (Investors, Ratings Agency, Media, Conferences etc.).
Requirements:
Essential:
1. Minimum of 5+ years of experience and demonstrable track record of achievement in Sustainability or a relevant area, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership/management role.
2. Relevant 3rd Level qualification (Degree, Masters) in a related field.
3. Proven experience and track record of delivery in a leadership role involving significant transformation and culture change with measurable outcomes.
